An election is a decision making process where people choose people to hold official offices. This is the mechanism by which our democratic republic maintains its purpose as stated in the U.S. Constitution.

U.S. Presidential Elections have some interesting nuances. We, the voters, elect electors who then vote for the President. What is the Electoral College? The Electoral College, administered by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), is not a place, it is a process that began as part of the original design of the U.S. Constitution. The Electoral College was established by the founding fathers as a compromise between election of the president by Congress and election by popular vote. The National Republican Senatorial Committee is taking a straw poll of who is being supported for President and Vice President. This poll is not run by the Federation of Republican Women and if you choose to take part be aware that you will be sharing your name and email address with the committee.
